What exactly is hibiscus tea? Hibiscus is a large brightly coloured flower grown in warm climates. The name hibiscus comes from the Greek term “hibiskos”, named by a doctor (ironic now that we know all of the health benefits of the plant). The hibiscus flower is also the national flower of Malaysia. This popular plant has been breed with others to create hibiscus hybrids around the world. However, our hibiscus tea is true to its name with pure hibiscus being its one and only ingredient. Lucky for tea drinkers everywhere this flower has more to offer than just its beauty.

How to make Hibiscus tea
To make this tea hot, add 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea for 12 oz. (350 ml) of water. Let it steep for 4-8 minutes at 100 degrees C (212 F). Once the tea is steeped, remove the infuser and enjoy!
This tea makes a superb iced tea! To enjoy it iced, add three teaspoons of loose leaf tea for every 12 oz. (350 ml) of water. Let it steep for 4-8 minutes using 100 degrees C (212 F) water. We like steeping this tea longer for full flavour extraction. Once steeping has completed, pour it over ice and enjoy.
Brewing Tip
Steep this tea longer for a more full flavour. Try out the traditional Panama holiday drink by mixing your hibiscus tea with ginger, cinnamon, clove, sugar, and nutmeg.
